Frequently Asked Questions
Can I monetize my YouTube videos with the Creator License?
Yes! The Creator License explicitly allows YouTube monetization. You need to activate your license and provide your YouTube Channel ID for whitelisting. After activation, your channel will be whitelisted within 48 hours, and you will keep 100% of your ad revenue. No claims will be issued against your videos.
What does "perpetual license" mean?
Once you purchase a license, you can use the track forever in your single end project. No subscription, no renewal fees. You only pay once.
How does license activation work?
After purchase via Lemon Squeezy, you receive a unique license key. Activate it at license.creativesoundtrack.com. Only tracks with a correctly activated license are covered. Save the generated contract – it cannot be regenerated.
What about Content ID and copyright claims?
Our music is registered with Content ID to protect our work. Licensees are strictly prohibited from registering the music in any Content ID system. When you use our music legally (with an activated license and whitelisting for Creator License), you will not receive claims. If you do, contact us and we will resolve it.
Do I need to give attribution?
For the Creator License, attribution is mandatory: "Music by Creative Soundtrack | https://creativesoundtrack.com". For the Commercial License it is recommended but not required. For the Business License no attribution is needed.
What is a cue sheet and do I need one for broadcast?
Yes, for all broadcast uses (TV, Radio, Cinema, VOD) you must submit a cue sheet to BMI (or your local PRO). Our composers are registered with BMI. Failure to submit a cue sheet constitutes a breach of the agreement. We provide support to help you complete it correctly.
What's the difference between Commercial and Business license?
Commercial – For monetized online content (YouTube ads, podcasts, corporate websites, independent films without theatrical distribution).
Business – Adds full broadcast rights (TV, radio, cinema), video games, apps, public performance, and client work (work-for-hire).
Business – Adds full broadcast rights (TV, radio, cinema), video games, apps, public performance, and client work (work-for-hire).
Can I get a refund?
All license purchases are final and non-refundable. Digital products cannot be returned. Refunds may be considered only in case of duplicate purchases or technical errors preventing license activation, and must be requested within 24 hours of purchase. Please read our Terms & Conditions for details.
